Details

Mochibu is a virtual pet that lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

• No data collection. The app does not collect or transmit any personal information, usage data, or analytics to us or to anyone else.
• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.
• No third parties. There are no ads, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs.
• On your devices. Your pet's history (care, games, adventures, coins, outfits, rooms and decorations) is stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch, which keep each other in step directly.
• In your own iCloud. The iPhone backs that history up to your private iCloud database, encrypted, so your pet survives a new phone. Only your Apple Account can read it; we cannot. The Apple Watch never connects to iCloud itself; it syncs with your iPhone, and the iPhone keeps the backup. You can turn iCloud off for the app in the Settings app, and deleting the app deletes the copy on your devices.

Activity counters

To see which parts of the app get used, Mochibu keeps a few simple counts on your device, for example how many games were finished or how often the coin shop was opened. They are not linked to you, they are never uploaded, and they never leave your device, except inside a device backup you make yourself.

Age range

Where Apple's age features apply (iOS 26.2 and later), Mochibu asks the system once for your age range through Apple's own Declared Age Range sheet. You choose whether to share it. The answer is used on your iPhone for one thing only: deciding whether the coin shop may open by itself, once, after your pet grows up, and whether the farewell card offers the shop. Unless you are known to be an adult, nothing in the app leads you to the shop; coins stay where they always are, behind the balance in the toolbar. Your age range is never sent to us or to anyone else. At most, a note of whether you are an adult stays on your iPhone so you are not asked again.

Photos and GIFs

You can turn your pet and its room into a photo or a looping GIF, and share a picture when your pet hatches or grows up. A picture is made on your iPhone only when you ask for one, and it goes only where you choose to send or save it from the share sheet. If you choose Save Image, iOS asks once whether Mochibu may add pictures to your photo library; Mochibu never reads your photos. Temporary copies made for sharing stay inside the app and are cleared away later.

Notifications

If you allow them, the pet checks in with a couple of local notifications a day. They are scheduled on your device and never pass through a server.

Health data

Mochibu does not request or receive any health, fitness, or motion data.

In-app purchases

Coin packs are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details; the purchase is kept by the App Store under Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL and the "Last updated" date will change.
